Peocon in Reykjavik University
Our Innovative solution has proven to be so new on the market that the marketing people don't even know about it's existence. In cooperation with Valdimar Sigurðsson Assistant Professor at the Reykjavik University we decided to offer the students of the course "Consumer Behavior and Marketing Communications" a lecture about the usefulness of counting your guests. In November Timothy Bishop, our Technical director, held a lecture about the subject for 60 people. Another lecture will be held for an MBA class at the Reykjavik University on the 25th of February 2009.

IT for the retail market
Peocon attended the "IT for the retail market" conference in Sweden. The conference was held in Stockholm on the 20th of May. Bedege, our partners in Sweden have offices in Stockholm and invited us to precent a case study from one of our customers in Dronningagatan. The case study came from Storm Karlsson in Reiss.
Timothy Bishop held the presentation for Storm and talked about the need for knowing how many customers enter your store, how many pass by your store, how you can benefit of knowing the hit rate and how to use this information in your administration. Storm uses this information to decide on opening hours and to see if the staff is capable of serving the customer.
You can read about this in IT Handeln, 23. May 2008 in Sweden

Peocon in the City of Reykjavik
Peocon signed a contract with the City of Reykjavik.

In the year 2008 many museums in Reykjavik will be without admittance fee so that it is not possible any more to use ticket systems to monitor how many guest visit the museums. Therefore the need of a counting system became essential and Peocon solutions will be implemented.

Peocon will be counting people on a number of places for the City of Reykjavik including Reykjavik Art Museum (Listasafn Reykjavíkur) in Hafnarhus and Kjarvalsstadir, Arbaejarsafn Museum, Visit Reykjavik (Upplýsingamiðstöð ferðamanna), Reykjavik Museum of Photography (Ljósmyndasafn Reykjavíkur) and Gerðuberg Culture Center.

Christmas at Peocon
It is our expirence that before Christmas many weird things can happen in guest counting. When you see that there is a lot more traffic in your shops, the counting sometimes shows different. Sometimes even nothing! Is it The Grinch who steals the numbers?
It could be! Does Santa have this effect?
No, no no! Although he is a bit wider than the rest of us he should not have that effect!
What is happening in most cases is that the Christmas decorations have been put in front of the cameras.
So we ask you to keep an eye on the Grinch, the elves and most of all keep an eye on the decorations to prevent any miscounting.
Peocon staff wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
